Great pair of signed jerseys from the original Heritage Classic in 2003 features Guy Lapointe’s Montreal Canadiens MegaStars game-worn jersey and Dave Hunter’s Edmonton Oilers MegaStars practice-worn jersey. A HOFer and one of the Habs’ 1970s Stanley Cup dynasty’s Big Three defensemen, Lapointe signed in bold black marker this retro-style Canadiens jersey he wore during the first half of the MegaStars alumni game at Commonwealth Stadium on Nov. 22, 2003. Hunter signed in black marker on the back of his Oilers practice jersey. Both 2003 Heritage Classic MegaStars jerseys have MeiGray NHL 2003-04 game-worn jersey patches, and the Lapointe jersey comes with an LOA.
Lapointe autographed the top of the “5” on the back of his Canadiens MegaStars game-worn jersey, which has the NHL Vintage Hockey patch sewn on the right breast and a size 58 flag tag in the back of the neck. The MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2003-2004 Season patch with registry number B10041 sewn inside the left rear tail has a “Promotional Jersey” stamp in faint black letters. The MeiGray population report states the jersey is a "White MegaStars - Worn in 1st half of MegaStars game 11/22/03 - Auctioned by NHL-MGG". There are a few light black marks on the left rear hem.
MeiGray patch on Hunter’s jersey displays registry number B10846. The MeiGray population report states the jersey is a "White MegaStars Practice Jersey - Worn During Practice and Autographed 11/21/03". The white practice jersey with size 58 flag tag in the neck has an embroidered Oilers crest sewn on the front, NHL Center Ice patch on the right breast, CCM logo and size “58” patches on the left front hem, CCM logo patch sewn below the back of the collar. above the surname letters and No. “12” heat-screened in blue vinyl on the back, and an NHL crest embroidered on the right rear hem. Practice wear includes marks on the sleeves and yellowish stains around the collar, likely from sweat.
