Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
The “kings” of the hockey world during their Stanley Cup championship season of 2011-12, Los Angeles first defeated Vancouver, St Louis and Phoenix before getting past the Devils in a hard-fought six-game Stanley Cup final. We have four items celebrating that victory, with a team-signed souvenir goal stick, a Luc Robitaille signed Kings jersey and game-used and signed sticks from both Luke Schenn and Jeff Carter. The team-signed example is in solid black with decals placed over the paddle and shaft, with approx. 26 purple ink signatures, including Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar, Davis Drewiske, Simon Gagne, Dustin Penner, Slava Voynov, Colin Fraser, Kevin Westgarth and others. The signatures display well, with no issues for the stick. The Kings jersey has Reebok labeling along the collar (size 56), with textured tackle twill team crest and sleeve and verso numbers, with Luc signing the reverse “2” in white, with the signature blending into the background material somewhat. The Carter and Schenn sticks are both Bauer models and were probably both used while playing for other clubs, with each featuring the user’s name in factory graphics, with each retaining its original tape over the blade and handle (the Carter stick has a rubber grip). Both sticks show nice use, with each signing in white, Schenn over the heel section, Carter across the blade.
Addendum; The Luke Schenn game-used stick is from his 2008-09 Toronto Maple Leafs rookie season and comes with an NHL Alumni COA. The Jeff Carter game-used stick is from his 2005-06 Philadelphia Flyers rookie season and comes with an NHL Alumni LOA.
