Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
From the days when the upstart World Hockey Association was seeking its own identity, red, white and blue prototype pucks were manufactured at the American Biltrite factory in Sherbrooke Quebec, with the blue examples adopted by the league and used briefly during the inaugural season of 1972-73. We have a pair offered, with a blue example along with a red prototype puck. Void of any logos, each puck has “Made in Canada” in small print on one side, with just light wear present to each and no unsightly chipping or obtrusive damage. Seldom seen, this pair would fit nicely into any advanced puck or WHA collection.
