Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The 15th Prime Minister of Canada and the third longest-serving in Canadian history, Pierre Elliot Trudeau first rose to prominence as a lawyer, joining the Liberal Party and jumping into the fray of federal politics in the 1960s. Serving two different terms, Trudeau would retire from politics in 1984. We have an original signed portrait photo of the Prime Minister, shuttered by legendary Canadian photographer Yousuf Karsh. At 8” x 10” and taped to a black velvet mount (14” x 18”) with white accent, the black and white image pictures the leader deep in thought, with a silver metal plaque affixed below listing the particulars. Trudeau has signed in space provided beneath his image in pencil, with the signature just a bit light. The photo shows light wear and toning on the reverse, with a dinged bottom right corner on the mount.
