Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Vintage mid-Sixties lumber includes six sticks from the "Original Six" era with three Northlands and a few CCM Custom Pro gamers. The CCM sticks were used by the Habs’ Gilles Tremblay, Leafs’ Pete Stemkowski and Camille Henry of the Rangers. All three have factory name stamps and are wrapped at both ends in period-correct tape jobs. The Stemkowski is in the best condition with age cracks, the other two have cracked blades. The Northlands include two Hawks sticks with Gunzo’s stamps and name stamps identifying Ab McDonald and Howie Young. Both are fully taped with toe cracks or age splits at the blade. Finally, Reg Fleming’s Northland Reg Fleming used in a 1965 game has “19” in ink has marked notations and a lengthy age split at the blade.
The Gilles Tremblay CCM Custom Pro with McNiece's store stamp is from the mid-Sixties when he was with the Canadiens. Stamped "21", taped at both ends with a crack at the heel that runs ten inches up the shaft. The stick stamped Stanskowski is obviously a Pete STEMKOWSKI Leafs stick from the mid 60s with name spelled wrong but displays Pete’s fancy Toronto-style number “12” stamp. This CCM Custom Pro is in great shape with age split at the toe of the blade. Reggie Fleming's Boston Bruins Northland Pro is taped in black at handle and blade and has his number "19"" added in marker on the shaft and the previous-owner’s factory name stamp has been blacked out. Notations along the back of the shaft read "Reg Fleming, 10/27/65, Bruins - 1 Toronto - 2". Fleming wore 19 in his single season with the Bruins. Filly taped wit a significant age split coming in from the toe. Camille Henry's CCM Custom Pro is stamped with his surname and number "21" in marker and was used in the mid-Sixties while with the Rangers. Taped in black bulldog at both ends with a blade crack. The Ab McDonald Northland Custom Pro also comes from the mid-Sixties Hawks and features the corn dog-style knob in white with black bulldog on the blade. Name stamp and Gunzo's store stamping along the sides. Good use with a crack at the tip of the toe. Howie Young used this Northland Custom Pro during the Sixties with the Hawks. It has his name and Gunzo's stampings and a Mikita-style tape job at knob and on hooked blade. This one displays great use with age cracks coming in from blade tip with some unraveling of the blade tape job.
