Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
First gaining seasoning while with Regina in the WHL, Mark Janssens enjoyed and especially lengthy career, with parts of 15 seasons spent skating for the North Stars, Whalers, Islanders, Black Hawks, Rangers and others. We have a Rangers alternate captain’s jersey that was worn by the Surrey native circa 1990-91. Gerry Cosby and CCM labels along with a size “54” fly tag sit affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with “Rangers” placed diagonally across the chest in dual-colour drop-shadow tackle twill, the mesh V-neck with alternate’s “A” has been accented with sleeve and verso numbers in matching material. In beautiful condition, there are a few marks and faint stains over the lower front band, with this continuing on the sleeves. There is also a slight discolouration to both the collar and Cosby label. We should also note that the alternate’s “A” over the left breast appears to have seen previous use, with its use here denoting a possible temporary designation for Janssens as an alternate. An LOA will accompany.
