Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Historic utilitarian relic, this brick was originally part of the foundation to hockey’s most fabled building, the Montreal Forum. Home of the Canadiens from 1924 until 1996, this particular Forum specimen is all the more important and desirable, as it sports autographs from the legendary Habs blueliners known as the “Big Three”, Larry Robinson, Serge Savard and Guy Lapointe. At roughly 4” x 8” with expected excessive weight, the brick has a Forum pin attached along with the handwritten limited-edition number of “502/800” along the underside. The three iconic defenders have all signed in black marker, with each adding his number. Dark brown enamel paint remains on one side, with a section of loss over the reverse. Accompanied by an attractive 12” x 7” x 5 ½” display case that features a black wooden base with plexiglass cover, a red and gold plaque listing the particulars including the limited-edition number is inserted. There is also a pair of COAs, along with three photos of the trio signing other bricks.
