Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Featuring the club that represents the U.S. capital, we have a pair of Washington Capitals items worn in both the 2011 Winter Classic played on Jan 1st, and ‘Turn Back the Clock’ night on Feb 1st 2011 honouring Dino Ciccarelli. Included are uniform pants worn by Mike Knuble along with gloves worn by Mike Green. As an added bonus, we also have game-used sticks from Green along with Marcus Johansson. The gloves worn by Green are Warrior models in Caps colours, with “Green” and “52” embroidered-on, while the pants worn by Knuble are XL Bauer models with “Mike Knuble” embroidered over an added swatch. The sticks both feature the original tape in place over the blades and knobs, with the Green stick blacked out and “Johansson” visible through the slightly ripped handle tape. LOAs will accompany for both the pants and gloves.
The gloves exhibit light but definite use, with wear to each palm but heavier over the left, with each cuff guard extension slightly and purposely torn. The pants are in Capitals colours with an embroidered NHL shield crest over the reverse of the left leg. A large stick mark is visible over the left pant leg, with light overall use showing. There is also an added piece over the upper reverse with “Knuble” handwritten. The Green stick is an Easton model that has been completely blacked out, with “Green” visible through the black paint along with “52”. The number is also handwritten along the top of the handle, with the stick exhibiting light use with wear to the taped section of blade. The Johansson stick is a Bauer Vapor model with “90” handwritten over the handle, with light use visible with a few marks and abrasions to the lower shaft. We should also note that each stick has a small amount of clear plastic (Saran Wrap) along the top edge of each blade.
