Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Another 105 classic little Parkies, this time from 1952-53, are up for grabs here and are led-off by a rather attractive-looking crease-free (first) card of Maurice Richard. It's VG+.....until it's flipped over to reveal a small area of residue and paper loss. The rest are also low grade, with subtle glue residue on the back of the narrow (trimmed) and otherwise VG Gordie Howe card. The Terry Sawchuk, (o/w G+), is similarly narrow as are 70-Schmidt and 87-Lindsay, while key rookie cards include those of Tim Horton, Dickie Moore and George Armstrong. They're all F but with no writing, back damage or paper loss. We count five dozen with one or more the just-mentioned major flaws, with tape stains and trimming also among them, dropping the group to P, including 3-Geoffrion, 44-Kennedy and 59-Lumley. Better and in the F to G range are the rest, with 6-Lach, 14-Harvey, 53-Delvecchio and 67-Kelly among them. From the season that saw Gordie Howe score 49 goals and win the scoring title and the Canadiens beat the Bruins for the Stanley Cup.
