Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
One hundred classic Parkhurst cards are offered here in low grade. Completeness is an attribute, with however the key rookie cards from 1957-58, those of Frank Mahovlich and Henri Richard, both P with countless creases. The first five Montreal and Toronto cards are creased and P or F, with uneven toning affecting 3-Beliveau, otherwise VG. Plante (F) has a heavy crease while 22-Horton, (o/w G), displays numerous printing defects in the form of dots on Tim's face. Remainder are in the F-G range with problem-free backs, save for four with writing, including 3-Duff, with a couple making it to VG. Key cards in the '58-59 set also tend to be in the worst condition, with paper loss on the front of 22-Plante and small two-digit numbers stamped on the backs of (18) Canadiens, (otherwise the average is G), including the Richards, Beliveau, Harvey and Geoffrion. Horton (G+) and Mahovlich (G) highlight some decent Maple Leafs, with rounded corners and not so much unsightly creases sending the average to the G neighborhood.
