Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2006-07 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
Another desirable offering from the Canadiens' vault, we have a pair of 2013-14 Habs sweaters with a home jersey issued to Nick Tarnasky, along with an away example that was worn by the Alberta native during the preseason. Each jersey features size “58+” tagging along the collar with handwritten “1” (home), with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the most famous and recognizable team crest in hockey, both V-neck sweaters have been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Tarnasky” across the nameplate of each in single twill. The preseason-worn away jersey exhibits just a few faint marks, while the home jersey – despite being listed as “issued” on the accompanying LOA - sports faint board burns along with a slit over the left elbow. There are also a few marks over the reverse numbers. Team patches that sit on the inside hems are numbered “A02930” (away) and “A02963” (Home), while holograms affixed to the reverse numbers of each (GU11152-home / GU11234-away) match the accompanying LOAs from the Canadiens.
