Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A member of an especially select group within the history of the NHL, Bernie Nicholls became one of only 8 players to ever secure 70 goals within a single season. Fittingly, the 70th goal also served as Nicholls 300th career marker, occurring on April 1st in 1989 against the visiting Vancouver Canucks. We have the actual puck used by Nicholls to notch his 70th, along with the official NHL Time Sheet from the historic contest that also witnessed a hat trick from Bernie, with this the 14th of his career. The puck feature’s a Kings logo on one side, with white tape added over the reverse to facilitate “B Nicholls 70th Goal April 1st 1989 Kings 6 Van 4”. The 8 ½” x 11” scoresheet has been signed by the official scorer, with a note mentioning both Nicholls achievement along with Wayne Gretzky’s 1200th career assist, also occurred in this historic game. Signed LOAs from Bernie Nicholls will accompany each item.
The puck exhibits light wear, with a few small marks, while the scoresheet shows just light expected wear commensurate with its former use.
