Selected 4th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Mitch Marner was a Memorial Cup champion with the London Knights, the Markham native has also represented Canada at both the World Juniors and World Championships. Hailing from the 2016 World Junior tournament that witnessed Marner lead the team in scoring (along with Dylan Strome) with six points in five games, we have his Team Canada jersey worn in the December 16th preliminary contest against the Americans. We also have the 2016 CHL Player of the Year’s helmet, gloves and nameplate from the tournament. COAs from Hockey Canada will accompany the jersey, helmet and gloves.
The jersey has an IIHF label over the collar with “60” heat-pressed sizing, with a partially embroidered IIHF crest over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with a gorgeous red, white and black Team Canada team crest with fitting gold trim, the mostly polyester garment has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill shoulder and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each sleeve. With just a few marks and faint burns over each sleeve, the jersey remains in wonderful condition. The size “Medium” helmet (7-7 ½) has the interior harness along with intact strapping and visor, with Team Canada decals over each side along with “16” over the front and reverse. An additional sticker within the interior lists the serial number, with nice use exhibited including visible scratches, marks and abrasions. The gloves are Bauer Vapor models in Team Canada colours with embroidered Team Canada logos, with “16” handwritten on each palm in black marker. Exhibiting light use with wear to the material and palms, Marner has signed each in silver, with the signatures blending heavily into the material. Lastly, the 10” nameplate has “Marner” in white over red, with logos on either side from Hockey Canada and the Canadian Way.
