Forever remembered as the ultimate clash for world hockey supremacy, the Summit-Series in 1972 marked the first major battle between Eastern and Western hockey powers, with the best Canadian and Russian hockey players each respective country had to offer. At 14 ½” x 20” this 1972 Team Canada card stock photo features the full team including management, with all players listed beneath the image. 37 have signed in fitting gold including Dryden, Ratelle, Mikita, Cournoyer, Dionne, Park, Lapointe, Gilbert, Clarke, Perreault, Henderson, Cournoyer and others. The signatures are somewhat cramped but display well, while the photo exhibits light wear which includes a few minor blemishes. There is also a small crease in the upper left corner.
Others who have signed this desirable Summit Series photo are Redmond, Berenson, Cashman, Hadfield, Johnston, Goldsworthy, Ellis, Stapleton, Guevremont, Savard, White, Tallon, Bergman, Awrey, Glennie, Seiling, Martin, Parise and the Mahovlich and Esposito brothers, along with Sinden, Ferguson and Bob Haggert.
