Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Vintage lumber originating from the days of the Original Six is offered, with three sticks used during the 1960s by Montreal Canadiens’ stars Terry Harper, Phil Goyette and J.C. Tremblay. Included are both CCM Custom Pro models (Harper & Goyette) along with an SSW Pro Special example (Tremblay), with each stick having the respective player’s name stamped over the upper shaft (Tremblay is handwritten). Each stick also retains its original tape over the blades and knobs, with the majority of the tape removed from the blade of the Harper stick. The Goyette stick originates from the early-1960s and it exhibits good use with some minor age cracking to the blade, with tape added to the upper shaft, most likely to rectify a crack. The Harper example (mid-1960s) has also had tape added - this time to the lower shaft – with marks and wear to the blade and shaft, while the rookie-era Tremblay stick (late-1950s/early-1960s) has a crack through the blade and nice use exhibited which includes a small chip to the heel section.
