Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A veteran of 18 NHL seasons, Bobby Carpenter was the first American-born player to be selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft. The Massachusetts native was also a three-time Stanley Cup champion, once as a player, twice as a coach. We have a signed Washington Capitals jersey that was worn by Carpenter in 1992-93. A Maska Airknit label with size “54” fly tag appears along the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with “Capitals” across the chest in individual white tackle twill letters, the V-neck sweater has been accented with blue and white tackle twill chest and sleeve stars, with the sleeve and verso numbers fashioned in matching material. The Stanley Cup centennial patch sits over the right breast.
A large stick marks is present over the lower front hem, with additional examples over the upper and lower left sleeve. Carpenter has signed just above the left breast in black marker and the signature displays well.
