Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Led by superstar Eric Lindros, the Philadelphia Flyers would only lose three playoffs games as they advanced to the 1997 Stanley Cup finals. That season would see The Big E register an impressive 79 points in just 52 games, with his performance more than worthy of All-Star selection. We have a pair of photo-matched gloves worn by Lindros during the 1996-97 NHL season. Bauer models in solid black with white accents, “Lindros 88” appears over each wrist guard flap, with “88” decals that were added later over the upper thumb guard. Repalmed, the gloves exhibit especially heavy wear, with considerable rubbing to the leather throughout. Photo-matched to the end of the 1996-97 season, Getty Images from both March and April have been used, with the extensive wear most likely occurring during prolonged practice use. An LOA from long-time Flyers trainer Jim "Turk" Evers will accompany.
Getty Image #1402783 from March 11th has been matched to the handwritten “1” over the white padding on the left glove, while Getty Image #53129368 from March 22nd has been matched to the dark vertical mark through the "U" of Bauer on the left glove. Finally, Getty Image #53129414 from April has been matched to the v-shaped mark directly over the “B” of “Bauer” on the right glove, with the left glove matched to the dark vertical mark through the "U" of Bauer on the left glove.
