Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018

Rather nice fronts but not so nice backs are to tell you about here, with a majority of cards displaying EX and EX+ characteristics at first glance, with however all cards low grade due to back damage and varying degrees of warping/waviness. That was caused by glue, used to paste the cards in a scrapbook, with removal leaving five pea-size or dime-size blotches of glue and paper, near the four corners and in the middle of each card. Vast majority of cards are without unsightly creases and have pleasing clean fronts, although a crease is spotted in a few notables; Sittler RC, Orr All-Star, Orr Conn Smythe, Plante and Beliveau, with both checklists marked and paper loss on the front of the first card; Gerry Cheevers. Rookie card lineup includes the likes of Clarke, Perreault, Park, Lapointe, Cashman, Tardif and others. Our thought is that these should go in nine-pocket pages, with the new owner enjoying flipping through them, while not worrying about or paying too much attention to the backs. Good-looking cheaper alternatives to a mid or high grade set.
