Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
It’s hard to believe in retrospect that Wayne Gretzky spent almost as much of his career in Los Angeles as he did in Edmonton, with Wayne’s first season in California his most productive, with 168 points registered in 78 games. We have a Kings captain's jersey that has been signed by the iconic legend. Center Ice labeling along with a size “52” fly tag sit along the collar, with the jersey fashioned with a partially textured team crest and tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gretzky” across the nameplate in matching material. The NHL 75th anniversary crest sits over the right breast. Wayne has signed within the first reverse “9”, with the signature bleeding into the material somewhat. The jersey itself remains in wonderful condition, with a small stain within the team crest, mentioned strictly for accuracy. A JSA sticker numbered “Y70940” has been affixed beneath the signature, with a matching LOA to accompany.
