Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
One of the greatest women’s hockey players ever, Canada’s Hayley Wickenheiser will surely be elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in short order. Wickenheiser’s 2001-02 Team Canada women’s national team game-worn alternate captain’s jersey with her familiar No. 22 on the back and both sleeves displays game wear from an unforgettable season that led to Hayley’s first of four straight Olympic gold medals. Nike Team Sports size 54 tagging sits in the back of the neck along with IIHF tagging, which has “W” and “Made in Canada” flag tags below it. IIHF patch is sewn on the right rear tail. Comes with a Canadian Hockey Association COA, which states that the jersey is from Team Canada’s WNT regular season.
Game wear includes black marks on the Hockey Canada crest on the front, pilling on the cuffs, particularly on the left sleeve, and inside the rear tail, as well as red paint transfer on the lower white stripe on the left sleeve, and marks and board burns on both sleeves.
Wickenheiser, who won an Olympic silver medal in Nagano in 1998, won seven IIHF women’s world championship gold medals with Canada and six silver medals.
