Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
The Buffalo Sabres earned the right to play for the Stanley Cup for the second time in 1998-99 when they won Prince of Wales Trophy. This personal Prince of Wales Trophy was presented to Edwin Andrews, who was on the Sabres partnership board, to commemorate Buffalo’s 4-1 series win over Toronto in the Eastern Conference Final. “NHL Champions Buffalo Sabres 1998-99” is engraved on the plaque on the rear of the 2”-high wood base and “Edwin C. Andrews” is engraved at the bottom of the “H.R.H. Prince of Wales Trophy” plaque on the front. The trophy has acquired a nice light patina, while the removable lid was changed for a new one, and the “Boffey” manufacturer’s sticker remains on the brown felt bottom.
