Featuring items from the personal collection of George Gosselin, we have a nice grouping of memorabilia which includes photos, programs, telegrams and more, including items from Gosselin’s time with the world champion Whitby Dunlops. We have Dunlops programs from both 1958 and 1959 along with other European examples, Dunlops playing cards, congratulatory telegrams, assorted photos, additional programs, a Belleville McFarlands pinback and more! The majority of the items remain in pleasing condition, with wear present from their prior handling and use.
Programs in the collection include 2 examples from 1958 and 1 from 1959 for Dunlops matches against the Paisley Pirates, a Harringay Racers program vs the Dunlops in 1958, a 1958 program for a match between Whitby and Canadians playing in Europe, a 1957 Russia vs Whitby program and others. The photos include over 30 of varying sizes that feature hockey action from different leagues, with a few Dunlops images included, with most showing moderate to heavy wear, with creases, wrinkles and toning present. Also included we have 15 assorted hockey magazines, with most hailing from the 1950s, with the majority in mid-grade, along with a Maple Leafs program with Bill Barilko on the cover, a copy of “How We Play Hockey” from 1949 and a CAHA rule book for 1958-59. The McFarlands pinback is 3 ½”, with toning to the surface and wear to the reverse, while the Dunlops playing cards are shrink-wrapped, and appear to be in beautiful condition, with a sheet included that shows images (Dunlops photos) of each card.
