Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A member of the Allan Cup champion Winnipeg Hockey Club in 1913, defenceman Jack Ruttan enlisted during the start of The Great War, both referring and coaching upon his return to his hometown Winnipeg in 1918. We have a custom-made card featuring an attractive signature cut of Ruttan’s, and it’s been encapsulated as “Authentic” by PSA/DNA. The well-designed card features a striking image of the HOFer on front, with pertinent career information listed on verso. The signature has been executed in blue ink, and it remains especially dark and bold. Signatures from century-old HOF players rarely if ever surface, especially from fabled clubs like the Winnipegs. Ruttan was enshrined in 1963, passing in 1973 at the age of 83.
