Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A card produced by Montreal’s World Wide Gum Company highlights this Babe Ruth six-pack, with card #80 (one of two different Ruth V353 cards that year) in crease-free condition and displaying like a VG-EX example, before taking into account the blue ink “cross” penned behind the outfield fence(!). Toning (borders, reverse) is also to mention. Meanwhile, the condition of an Imperial Series No. 149 scribbler is striking, with a wonderful blue tint cover image of Ruth and no writing on the interior pages. A miniscule tear at the upper spine and arithmetical tables on the back cover are to note. Another scribbler is rough with detached cover, while a 1937 Yankees vs. White Sox scorecard (EX+) is from after Babe’s playing days. He’s pictured with Lou Gehrig on a 33-1/3 RPM record highlighting great sports moments, with a trashed Dell magazine completing the lot.
