Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Successful during their inaugural season with a Stanley Cup victory in 1996, the Colorado Avalanche hold the all-time NHL record for the longest consecutive attendance sell outs at home games with 487. We have a great group of Avalanche sticks, with examples from Blake, Drury, Morris and Pellerin (the Pellerin was used while with the Blues), along with sticks used by both Bourque and Sakic during the 2001 season, where the Avs celebrated their second Stanley Cup championship. We have Easton, Louisville and Sher-Wood models, with the user’s name appearing, with each example retaining its tape over the blade (except Sakic and Morris) and handle. The Drury and Pellerin sticks have been signed over the heel sections, while the Sakic, Bourque and Morris sticks have been signed across the blade, with the Bourque stick also signed by Patrick Roy.
Each stick exhibits moderate to heavy use, with just the signature on the Pellerin weak. It should also be noted that the possibility exists of use while playing for another team other than Colorado.
