Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Currently serving as an assistant coach with his former club the Montreal Canadiens, J.J. Daigneault spent parts of 16 seasons in the NHL, originally drafted 10th overall by Vancouver in 1984. This Penguins jersey was worn by Daigneault in 1996-97. Labels from Starter and Center Ice along with a “54-R” swatch sit along the collar, with embroidered Starter and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with “Pittsburgh” placed diagonally across the chest in drop-shadow tackle twill letters, the black V-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with alternate crests over each shoulder. Customized sleeves have also been utilized, with the hems cut away. Heavy wear is obvious, with considerable pilling along with significant board burns with resulting holes over each sleeve. There is also rusting to the buttons on the fight strap.
