Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Appearing for a number of KHL clubs during his career including CSKA Moscow, Tomas Surovy saw NHL action in parts of three seasons with Pittsburgh. This photo-matched Penguins jersey was worn by the Slovak during his rookie campaign in 2002-03, where he appeared in 26 contests. Sewn-down size tagging is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and KOHO crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the Pens team crest that saw use from 2002-2016, the solid black V-neck has been accented with textured tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. Game-wear includes a number of marks over the lower front and sleeves, with a few small holes/slits resulting from board burns near each elbow section, with additional burns over each shoulder. There is also some minor fraying to the reverse number’s threading. Getty Image #1996257 from April 5th 2003 has been matched to the black mark within the right sleeve’s gold-coloured striping band, and to the black mark just below the black stripe on the same sleeve.
