Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
The black marks all over Tomas Sandstrom’s 1995-96 Penguins game-worn jersey provide a photo match as well as testify to the clutching, grabbing and hooking methods employed during that era. The series of three black marks on the right breast and collar show in Getty Images #277527 taken on December 22, 1995, when the Swedish forward had five of the Penguins’ 28 shots in a 4-2 loss to Montreal in Pittsburgh. Flag tags in the neck are a size 54 and a CCM tag with Sandstrom’s No. “17” and “95-96” handwritten in black marker. The front, back and both sleeves are covered with black marks and there are board burns and unrepaired burn holes on the sleeves and front hem. Comes with a Penguins LOA.
There is also red paint transfer on the right sleeve and on the left front tail, and a solid board burn with blue paint transfer on the right hem.
