Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Originating from the late-1960s/early-1970s, we have a highly desirable Lefty Wilson pro-style fiberglass goal mask. Wilson, a long-time trainer for the Detroit Red Wings, made masks for a number of amateur and professional players over the years including Terry Sawchuk. At 8 ½” from chin to forehead along with 6 ¼” ear to ear, the mask features vintage straps with most of the interior padding present, with a hole cut over the mouth section - custom-modifying the mask, making it a unique specimen. Toning to the material has taken place, with some very minor staining also present and mentioned strictly for accuracy, with some rusting and wear to the straps also worth stating.
