Hall of Fame center Joe Sakic had two Stanley Cup titles in his future when he used this Sher-Wood stick during his 1988-89 NHL rookie season with the Quebec Nordiques. The number “88” that Sakic wore solely during his rookie season is handwritten on his tape job on the knob and also appears in the “Sakic 88” factory stamp on the shaft. Chosen 15th overall by the Nords in the 1987 NHL Draft, Sakic had 23 goals and 39 assists for 62 points with Quebec in 1988-89. His original tape job also remains on the blade of his game-used stick, which displays solid game wear that includes red and blue paint transfer on the shaft.
