Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Always highly cherished by collectors, we have a great group of game-worn and used NHL items, with signed skates worn by Patrick Marleau in 2008-09, 2009 World Championships Team Russia gloves signed and worn by Denis Grebeshkov and helmets worn by Petteri Nummelin (circa 2007) and Nick Schultz (2000s). We also have a pair of game-used goal sticks, with an example from Jonas Hiller along with a stick used by Brian Boucher. The Marleau skates are Reebok models with stickers along the skate blade holders that state “Marleau 4th 08-09”. Both show nice use with marks and wear to both the boots and blade holders, with Patrick signing each skate on the outside section in blue marker, and the signatures are excellent. The Grebeshkov signed gloves are Reebok models in red, white and blue, with “Grebeshkov” embroidered onto the wrist cuff of each. Nice use is exhibited including paint transfer along the palm of the right glove, with Denis signing each in thin marker. The signed Nummelin and Schultz game-worn helmets both have intact visors and padding, with Wild team logos on each side along with the respective player’s number along the reverse. Both exhibit moderate use, with each signature along the top section showing some light smudging. The sticks are Sher-Wood (Boucher) and KOHO (Hiller) examples, with the users name on the upper shaft (each is partially covered with tape), with each stick retaining its original tape on the blades and handles (the Hiller stick features a faux-tape rubber grip). Both show fairly good use, with a number of dark marks to the taped section of blade on the Hiller stick, while the tape on the Boucher example exhibits heavy spotting. Hiller has signed across the front side of the blade, and the signature displays well.
