Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

It was in 1960-61 that Topps, for the first time, offered a mail-in premium on its wrappers, with the Hobby Card Album here one of the items available, (along with a set of binoculars). It is complete and un-used, with no writing on the inside back cover, designed to act as a checklist for collectors. Some light cover scuffs/scratches and spine wear but overall, quite nice. A piece of "magic red paper", inserted into each pack is also present and enabled to see a hidden answer to a trivia question on the backs of the cards. A trio of cards includes two high grade examples, with PSA awarding marks of NM-MT 8 to All-Time Greats #3-Joe Malone and 32-Chuck Gardiner, while the '60-61 set's key card, the Stan Mikita rookie, is in raw form. We spot light color loss in the blue, along with ink spots from the back on another card in the yellow, but otherwise deem card #14 near mint. Yet another interesting group from our consignor's formidable collection.
