Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Hailing from the early-1970s when the NHL was slowly expanding, we have a great group of items from the 1970-71 Kellogg’s Iron on Transfer promotion, along with additional goodies from the 1971-72 Mac’s Milk Sporticatures offering. Included, we have the 1970-71 Kellogg's Frank Mahovlich iron on transfer with original envelope along with original cut-out panels (2) from cereal boxes. From the 1971-72 Mac’s Milk Sporticatures promotion we have 2 mugs (Cournoyer & Mahovlich), 3 hockey tips booklets (Plante and Park-2) the Bobby Hull photo, 4 27” pennants with Mikita, Parent, Cournoyer and Hull and a 22” x 36” Bernie Parent towel.
The Mahovlich transfer shows light wear with a few small, minor creases, with the cut-out panels featuring Hull along with an order form for the t-shirts. The 11” x 14” Hull picture exhibits only very light wear, with each mug in excellent condition with complete and bright transfers. Next, the pennants all feature intact tassels (some show wear), with wear to each tip. Each is also discolored to varying degrees, with the lettering fading on the Mikita and Hull examples. Lastly, the Hockey Tips booklets all exhibit light wear with a musty smell, with the Parent towel showing light discolouration along with a few small stains.
