Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Featuring the fabled Maurice Richard along with his beloved Montreal Canadiens, we have a great group of Rocket items totaling 12, with a few pieces that aren’t often seen. Included is a Richard signed cheque from 1971 drawn on his General Fishing Lines company’s Banque Canadienne Nationale account, a 1950s Dow Rocket postcard, a 1950s Rocket bread wrapper with ink blotter, a 1958 BC centennial award and a Richard Dixon pencil (1955-57). There is also a pair of early-1960s GE Show ‘N Tell Richard records with sleeves, a circa 1953-54 Habs puzzle and three Montreal material cut-outs, with Moore, MacPherson and Tom Johnson.
The cheque (ballpoint), blotter, postcard and centennial award all exhibit just light wear, while the 17 ½” x 18 ½” bread wrapper has a moderate edge tear along with some minor dirt staining along the right border. The 9 ½” x 12” puzzle (unsure if complete) box displays well with a taped bottom left, and separated upper right corner, with a few tears to the underside of the box, while the Dixon pencil has had the finish removed from the bottom third. The Show ‘N Tell records both appear in very good condition with light wear to the sleeves, with the three material Habs cut-outs displaying wonderfully.
