Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
From the Parkhurst company's landmark and inaugural hockey card issue of 1951-52 that started the modern era come the images of Alex Delvecchio, Howie Meeker and Ted Kennedy, with the Maple Leafs' captain appearing on a little flattened cardboard box which originally held five Parkies and a stick of gum. The top section, or what would have tucked/folded under the container, is torn off, but otherwise the relic is in pleasing shape with no creases and only light wear. The Meeker rookie card has good color and displays well and has been graded EX 5 by PSA. We can't spot any creases in the raw Delvecchio RC, with minor wear at the corners sending it to the VG-EX or VG-EX+ level. An intriguing collection of similar Parkhurst lots has been assembled by our consignor who has decided the time has come to pass them along to other appreciative hobbyists. Have fun perusing them.
