Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

Cardboard pieces cut from cereal boxes some 50 years ago star here and are accompanied by a Glenn Hall poster and a similar-size in-store display of Henri Richard. Box backs featuring Tim Horton and Stan Mikita in All-Star uniforms are from 1966-67, as are four mini (2-3/4” x 4-1/2”) front panels of Howe, Hall, Keon and Mahovlich. The Hall poster and the thick cardboard Richard display are 16” by 20” affairs with great vibrant colors and also ’66-67 productions. The back of a ’67-68 box pictures Gordie Howe and, like the Horton panel, still has its surrounding area present – nice. Little pictures from the front of ’67-68 boxes depict Mikita, Beliveau and Howell (2), while considered rare is a side panel with a childhood photo of Mikita, part of a contest entry form where consumers were invited to identify the player. Please see our website for various condition details of this intriguing stash.
The Hall poster has some rippling and small bends but no real unsightly creases, while an almost side-to-side crease affects the Richard piece, cutting through Henri’s eyes. Creases, but not drastic, are to report in the Horton and Howe back panels, with Mikita (one small light “back” crease) the nicest. Three of the four ’66-67 All-Star front panels have a light crease or two, with Keon the exception, while the mini “cards” from ’67-68 have uneven cuts. Staining to the Mikita is to mention, with Stan’s childhood card/entry form lightly scuffed but not creased and contributing to a rather delectable ensemble.
