Selected to the NHL First All-Star Team in each of his first 5 seasons, Alexander Ovechkin continues to impress, and he’s widely considered one of the greatest goal scorers in NHL history. Hailing from the Russian superstar’s Hart Memorial and Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy-winning season of 2008-09, we have a pair of game-worn skates that have been photo-matched. CCM models with Lightspeed Tuuk blade holders, the skates feature intact lacing, with threading added to the ankle support on the left skate. Good use is exhibited on the pair, with cuts across the toe sections along with marks and additional cuts/slices to the blade holders. Ovechkin would finish the 2008-09 season with 110 points, including 56 goals and 54 assists.
Regarding the previously mentioned photo-matches, Getty Image #84678286 from Feb 3rd 2009 has been matched to a number of marks on the outside of the blade holder on the right skate, including the missing bottom portion of "K" of Tuuk, while Getty Image #84665154 from Feb 5th two days later has been matched to a number of marks on the interior side of the right skate. This is the game in which Alexander secured his 200th career goal.
