Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

Definitely some NM and NM+ commons to be discovered in this set of ever-popular 1971-72 OPC cards, dominated by EX-MT and better examples which display impressive clean surfaces, with a minority of EX-EX+ cards present. Few creases are spotted, although unfortunately some of the biggies are affected. The Ken Dryden RC has a light half-inch crease, another extremely subtle one, corner/edge wear and a wax-stained back all to be aware of and is VG. A half-inch upper corner crease renders the Dionne rookie VG+, while the off-centered Lafleur is better at EX-MT. Clarke, Plante and MacLeish RC are NM notables, with the EX-MT star lineup including Park, Hull, Perreault, Parent, Sittler, Hull All-Star and 262-Howe Retires (OC, ST). Two Orr cards, (245-Double (OC), 251-All-Star) are EX-MT+, but Bobby's regular #100 card is multi-creased (F). Perfect centering appears to be a challenge throughout, with the two checklists marked and otherwise G (#111) and VG-EX (264). Tape stains lower 263-Beliveau Retires.
Story booklets at the back of the binder are a mixed set, with 15 of them the French versions and the other nine English, with (English) duplicates of 11-Grant, 13-Tony Esposito and 18-Gilbert. Condition averages EX, centering often an issue.
