Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
From Parkhurst's second hockey card effort, these 1952-53 examples were definitely played with and in some cases abused, although no writing or holes are spotted and almost all have damage-free backs. The biggies are all present, with cards of legends Maurice Richard, Gordie Howe, Tim Horton (RC), Dickie Moore (RC), Doug Harvey and Bernie Geoffrion all featuring multiple creases, at times heavy, and no better than F. Two dozen cards have some paper loss on the front, (usually affecting a corner or two), with notables being Sawchuk, Armstrong RC, Lindsay, Lach and Schmidt. There's a duplicate of 22-Rayner (tape damage) and back damage to just one card; 13-Bouchard. The remainder are mostly in the P-F-G grades, with a few making it to G+ and a few others to VG. The one card not present is 73-Z. Toppazzini, with a trimmed 1934 Canadian Goudey baseball card (47-Tom Zachary) tossed onto the pile, perfect for those seeking an inexpensive trip back in time.
