Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Arguably the most famous image in hockey history, we have a wonderful representation of that momentous moment, with a triple-signed photo of “The Goal”. It was the night of May 10, 1970 when off a give-and-go with teammate Derek Sanderson, the great Bobby Orr slid the puck past Blues goaltender Glenn Hall in overtime to give his Bruins the Stanley Cup. Forever captured by the camera’s eye, all three members of the historic event have signed this 16” x 20” photo in marker near their respective image including Orr, Hall and Blue’s defenceman Noel Picard. Hall has added his “Mr Goalie” moniker, with Picard not to be outdone, adding “The Policeman”. Double matted and framed to full dimensions of roughly 21 ¼” x 25 ½”, the signatures present extremely well, with just very light wear to the frame and glass itself. A COA from GNR will accompany for the Orr signature.
