Sensational pieces for a Lord Stanley collection, we have a 1902 presentational medal along with a 1902 "Earl Derby Guild Mayor" Ceramic Plate. The 2” medal features the raised images of “The Earl of Derby K.G. Guild Mayor of Preston and the Countess of Derby” and is accompanied by an insert that states “WM 50mm B/UNC” along with the maker, Spink and Sons. The antique 9 ¼” plate features a brownish image of Guild Hall, with the Earl Derby K.G. Guild Mayor beneath Stanley's image. Stanley acted as Mayor of Preston in 1902, with this commemorative plate dated September of that year.
The 1902 medal is in oxidized silver and features the Derby Coat of Arms on the reverse. The lovely 100+ year old antique plate has a few minor chips along with minimal wear to the surface, with some crazing also present on both the front and reverse.
