Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017

A formidable example of Ken Dryden's Topps rookie card is offered here and is the likes of which sure had kids' mouths dropping when they were pulled from wax packs back in the day - what, a goalie pictured with his mask on a card?! KSA could not find a single grade-lowering flaw in this well-centered example of card #45, awarding it a lofty and coveted mark of MINT 9. Fact-laden, (and also well-centered!) reverse tells of Dryden leading his Cornell team to the national collegiate championship and how he then became an instant hero by leading the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup. His 20 games played in the 1970-71 playoffs were a new record, while his stats from his late-season call-up, (just nine goals against in six games), are also thought-provoking. A splendid addition to a Dryden/rookie card collection this beauty will be.
