Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
One of only 5 to ever defeat the legendary Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes’ boxing career spanned from 1973-2002, with an impressive record of 69 wins and 6 losses. We have a fight-worn and signed robe along with the matching fight-worn and signed trunks, with both items hailing from the Heavyweight Champion’s Sept 19th 1995 bout against Eddie Donaldson in St Louis. The white silk robe with red accents features a tag from Everlast along the collar, with a larger label over the left chest from the famous supplier. Holmes has signed just above the left pocket in black marker adding the date, with some wear/loss to the signature along with minor fading. The matching trunks also sport intact Everlast labeling, with Holmes adding a dated signature on the left pant leg that has somewhat worn away over time. A pair of LOAs from JSA will accompany for the signatures.
Both items exhibit use, with some staining on the right front of the shorts, along with some light toning and discolouration to the robe.
