Named to Finland's roster for the 2014 Winter Olympics as a 19-year-old, defenceman Olli Maatta is currently in his fourth season with Pittsburgh. This Penguins third jersey was worn by the Jyväskylä native in a pair of contests late in 2014, on Oct 22nd vs the Flyers and on Nov 26th against Toronto, and it’s been photo-matched. Size tagging from CCM sits affixed to the collar along with a Reebok name band, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests gracing the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring a large and partially embroidered Penguins team crest, the V-neck sweater have been accented with oversized tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with Maatta over the nameplate in single twill. The team patch is located on the inside hem and it divulges the garment’s status as a “Set 1 Throwback Jersey”, while a JerseyTRAK chip has also been affixed to the fight strap, with a JerseyTRAK document to accompany. Visible game-use includes faint board burns over the left sleeve along with a few random dark marks. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty Image #459716442 from Nov 26th 2015 has been matched to the black mark on the lower right sleeve. A team COA will accompany.
