Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
The 1980 NHL All-Star Game was the 32nd time the best on best contest was held, with the Wales Conference sealing the deal for their 5th straight consecutive win, edging the Campbells 6-3. We have an attractive display plate along with a framed display containing a program and puck. The plate is roughly 10 ½” in diameter, with a full colour inset center that features every team logo circling the central image. The edge of the plate features scroll work, with “Detroit Feb 4th-1980” inserted below. The reverse includes “Canton Ohio” along with a number of hallmarks. With the inserted place/date piece loose but still attached and some general wear, the plate remains in wonderful condition and could use a thorough cleaning. The program within the display features the same image used on the plate, right down to size and colour, with the date and venue listed below. The inserted puck also features the particulars listed with some wear to the reverse NHL logo, with both items nicely matted and framed to full dimensions of 13 ½” x 19 ½”. We should also note that the puck could be removed from the display thru the reverse if so desired.
