Boasting an impressive six 100-point NHL seasons thus far in his Hall of Fame career, Sidney Crosby is also the youngest captain in NHL history to hoist the Stanley Cup. From his Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy-winning season of 2009-10, this photo-matched stick was used by the superstar in the March 12, 2010 match vs New Jersey, where he scored the lone Penguins goal. A Reebok Sickicks II model, “S. Crosby 2” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with the original black tape in place over the blade and white spiral pattern over the handle (with “87” handwritten). There is also a bar code affixed to the underside of the shaft, with a Frameworth hologram placed over the lower shaft along with a label listing the March 12th date and opponent.
Nice game use is exhibited on the composite stick, with wear to the taped section of blade including the underside, with a chip along the top edge of the heel section, most likely occurring from contact with other sticks during face-offs. A few additional marks and abrasions are visible over the shaft. Getty Image #97783211 from March 12, 2010 has been matched to the paint chip in the upper area of the "b" of "Reebok", and to the pair of black marks on the knob.
