Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
The Montreal Canadiens record holder for most goals in a season by a defenceman, Guy Lapointe spent a dozen full seasons with the Bleu Blanc Rouge, winning an amazing 6 Stanley Cups along the way. We have a Canadiens jersey worn by the HOF defenceman in the Stanley Cup championship season of 1977-78. Proper Wilson size labeling remains affixed to the collar, with a chain-stitched “77” year swatch on the inside hem. Styled with the most recognizable team crest in all of hockey administered fully in tackle twill, the white V-neck sweater has been accented with attractive two-layer dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with an intact garter-style fight strap. With evidence of a former nameplate, just a few random marks are present on the vintage sweater, with some pilling within the sleeves along with 15 team repairs including examples on the front, reverse and over the sleeves. A Classic LOA will accompany.
