Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Standouts for the Chicago Black Hawks throughout the 1970’s and ‘80s, Tony Esposito and Denis Savard enjoyed Hall of Fame careers while playing in the Windy City. This lot contains game-used sticks from the pair. The Savard stick is a Canadien 6001 Custom Pro model, with the original tape on the blade and upper shaft. “Savard” appears on the shaft, with a factory code on the underside of “0718 3/”. Visible game-use includes some wear to the taped section of blade, along with a few abrasions on the shaft. The Espo stick is a Northland Pattern model, with “Esposito” stamped on the upper shaft, with handwritten “35”. The original tape jobs on the knob and blade are intact, and the stick’s specific pattern number is listed. As our catalog and on-line imagery will attest, the stick is currently broken in half where the paddle meets the shaft. At the winning bidder’s desire, the stick could easily be glue back together.
