Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The famed Victoria Cougars enjoyed a successful major junior hockey run in the Western Hockey League from the late-1960s through the mid-1990s. It’s worth noting that Hall of Fame goalie Grant Fuhr made his mark in two seasons with Victoria, including a Memorial Cup appearance in 1981 with the Cougars. Their spectacular logo is featured in the colorful paint job splashed across the front of this mask made by Tom O’Neill of B.C. and worn by an unknown Cougars goaltender. A small square on the middle of the inside forehead is the only piece of interior padding that remains on this molded fiberglass mask, which measures 10 3/4" from top to bottom, and 7 1/4" at its widest.
