Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
St. Louis native Rick Monrotus designed and wore this “crazy” style mask that was inspired by Michel Dion’s distinctive mask, particularly by the long chin that offers excellent throat protection. Rick has signed both sides of the mask, including once as the artist for his colorful paint job. Monrotus played 3 1/2 years of semi-pro hockey in the Continental Hockey League for St. Louis teams including the St. Louis Saints and the Spirit of St. Louis and the mask was worn by him during that era in the mid-1970s. Solid game use is on display in the various marks and scrapes to the paint, and all the interior padding and straps are in place. A really intriguing addition to your collection!
